The explosion, which occurred on Sunday at about 2 a.m., tore through at least one luxury bus and affected another, scattering debris across the terminal.

   

A councillor from the area, Mark Bawa, confirmed the incident, saying casualty figures were still being verified.

In separate messages, the leaders unanimously urged Nigerians to use the Easter celebration as an opportunity to reflect on the values of sacrifice, unity and love, and to work collectively towards national development.

Addressing the crowd, the Governor took a firm swipe at the opposition African Democratic Congress (ADC), dismissing their chances of ever attaining power at the national or state level.

“Unidentified assailants ambushed victims returning from a mining site,” police say.

“This is a failure to protect lives,” Amnesty International says.

From the footage, it is clear that the officers were aware of the recording, yet they continued to intimidate the two individuals with threatening words.

The police spokesperson in the state said the incident occurred on 1 April.

The Katsina State Police Command said it has arrested four suspects in connection with the mob killing.
